Robin Evans Freelance Writing and Photography

I'm Robin...

Previously an environmental consultant, my forte was objective scientific writing: making the technical understandable.  I also have an interest in immersive travel writing, inspired by a degree in geography.  The two combine in themes of aviation, travel, cycling, environment and music for the mainstream press, online magazines and professional journals.  My first piece was published in 2002: a description of participating in a marine conservation project aboard a catamaran in the West Indies.  It combined basic scientific treatment with descriptive travel writing.

I’m a graduate of courses by National Geographic Traveller, The Guardian Masterclasses and Bradt Travel Guides.  I was long-listed by the latter in their annual travel writing competition (2014) and Highly Commended (2018).

I have written for, amongst others: Pilot, Outdoor Fitness, easyJet Traveller, Amateur Photographer, Drone Magazine, Mantality, The Royal Aeronautical Society, The Environmentalist and Derbyshire Life.
